The Minehead Community Orchestra (MCO) was founded by David Pitts on 25th January 2012, when it was known as the Alcomber’s Orchestra.
Over the past ten years we have lost members and indeed conductors but have gained replacements regularly. The orchestra is now ably conducted by Emily Feldberg our local composer renowned by her production of ‘Fragments’ in 2019.
Our repertoire this season is:
- Linden Lea
- Paul Simon Medley
- Haydn’s Symphony No.104
- Tschaikowsky’s Swan Lake Suite
- Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony
- Wizard of Oz
- Gold & Silver
- Abba Medley
- Beethoven’s 4th Symphony
- Edward Elgar’s Three Bavarian Dances
Every year we aim to have two concerts, one at Christmas and the other in Blenheim Gardens in the summer.
We are always looking for new members particularly strings, if you play to grade 4 standard, please get in touch here.
