Minehead Community Orchestra

The Minehead Community Orchestra (MCO) was founded by David Pitts on 25th January 2012, when it was known as the Alcomber’s Orchestra.

Over the past eleven years we have lost members and indeed conductors but have gained replacements regularly.  The orchestra is now ably  conducted by Emily Feldberg our local composer renowned by her production of ‘Fragments’ in 2019.  We meet fortnightly at the Methodist Church Hall in the centre of Minehead.

Our repertoire this next term will include:

*Beethoven’s 4th Symphony

*Glen Miller Medley

*Elgar’s Three Bavarian Dances

*Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances 5-8

Mikado

Yesterday

Chervona Kalyna – Ukrainian rally song

*Music provided by Somerset Performing Arts Library in Yeovil.

Every year we aim to have two concerts, one at Christmas and the other in Blenheim Gardens in the summer.

If you  would like to enjoy the fellowship of making music together, we are always looking for new members, percussion and strings particularly.  Please get in touch here.
