The Minehead Community Orchestra was founded in 2012 by David Pitts when it was known as The Alcombers Orchestra.

We rehearse at  The Old Hospital, Minehead fortnightly on Wednesday evenings in the Exmoor Room at 7pm for 7.20 start.  We are always looking for new members particularly strings, if you play to grade 4 standard, please get in touch here.

Rehearsals

We have formed small ensembles of no more than 6  but are still looking for a suitable outside space to play.

Repertoire

The string groups will play various pieces including:

  • Die Meistersinger – Wagner
  • Jupiter Symphony – Mozart
  • The Entertainer

The wind sextet will commence playing as soon as the government lifts the ban on amateur wind players performing in groups.

  • Subscriptions

The subscription per term is £20.
